The Backup Security Online Backup Service can be billed monthly, quarterly or annually.  Each account includes 4 computer licenses for you to use to backup multiple computers or drives.  Additional licenses are available for only $4.00 per additional license per month.

For Monthly Billing, a one time $19.95 set up fee, paid in advance of service, gets you started.  Then you will be billed each month based on the maximum “sustained” tier level you used during the previous billing cycle.  

For Quarterly or Annual Billing, the setup fee is waved and you will be charged in advance of service at the tier level you select.  Should you exceed this tier level during any period, you will be charged for the difference on the next billing cycle.  Should your usage fall to a lower tier level than you originally selected, upon your request, your tier level will be lowered and you will receive a credit on the next billing cycle.

The preferred method of payment is by credit card, authorized for reoccurring billing in accordance with your chosen billing cycle.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, & Discover.  Payment by invoice is available, at an additional charge of $4.00 for invoice billing by mail or e-mail, each billing cycle.

Billing rates are based on Tier Levels, which correspond to maximum data storage levels.  To Sign Up, choose an Initial Tier Level as an estimate of your anticipated storage needs.  Each billing cycle is billed based on your actual storage use for that period.  The Initial Tier Level serves as your authorization for the upward limit of data storage on our backup servers. Should this limit be exceeded, you will first be notified of this overage by the Backup Security software, allowing accidental quota overages to be corrected without penalty.  The backup software will not prevent your backups from continuing until they reach 200% of your specified Initial Tier Level. This feature allows on demand access to backup storage in excess of your chosen backup limit.  Should you remain over this  Initial Tier Level, Backup Security's support staff will contact you to authorize a new maximum Tier Level for your account or to assist you in returning under your Initial Tier Level quota.

*The average user will have a 2:1 Compression ratio, word processing files may compress 3:1, whereas graphic and zip files may be at 1:1 as they are already compressed.
